About

kevinhall

Kevin Hall began formal piano lessons at the age of 7, achieving his ABRSM Grade 8 on piano before being called “to the road.”

A true multi-instrumentalist, Kevin plays keyboards, accordion, and synthesizers, boasting an impressive collection of 27 instruments, including three keytars. His musical talents extend further to percussion, bodhrán, double bass, bass guitar, and cello, all complemented by his vocal range from B-flat3 to E-flat5 (hitting the top note on Queen’s “Somebody to Love”). Currently, Kevin is expanding his musical repertoire by learning to play the saxophone.

With a strong foundation in both music theory and “ear” knowledge, Kevin often acts as a bridge between classical musicians (who focus on bar numbers) and groove-based musicians (who might say ‘come in on the downbeat to the chorus’).
His expertise as a performer, arranger, composer, and lyricist has led to the creation of five albums’ worth of original material, ranging from pop songs to instrumental pieces. In 2011, Kevin collaborated with the late Christine Rosholt to release the album Pazz in Minneapolis, marking the culmination of a three-year original project.

“Being a professional in the music business for over 30 years I've had to wear several different hats. My first celebrity booking (in my first year of agency business) was the late Bob Monkhouse and I have had to back several performers including Midge Ure, Alison Moyet, Claire Sweeny and even a late-night impromptu performance with Oleta Adams.
